Hardware And Electronics

A hands on experience with electronics and systems should be the first step to fully understanding any engineering dicipline, and is one of the aspects I most enjoy and appreciate the most. Knowledge around how information is sent, received, and stored builds key understanding. Among the various hardware components, operating systems, and components, every engineer should become well rounded with these.

This led to my first job as an assembler at Thermal Electronics where I built cables per assembly drawings, troubleshot and testing cable assemblies, operating testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. These tasks gave me the fundamental background I desired.

Software

In a career of Information Technology(IT), software plays the most crucial role in gathering data from attackers and from the network. Some of the most useful skills to learn in IT are ones you can't see such as coding, scripting, and machine-learning to become informed about persistant attacks that threaten our social and digital identities.

I was quickly drawn to Python and Javascript because of the high demand of the skills. I also dived deeper into configuring cisco devices creating subnets with vlans.

CyberSecurity

As part of my major in IT, I became more aware of the digital world at work. while enrolled at Palomar College in their Cybersecurity Associates program, I have been consistantly working on new projects to futher my personal knowledge. As of May 2024, I enrolled in my first class at National University to continue my education.
